Join us on Saturday, August 31st, for our first ever Foraging Workshop with Lauren of Wooden Spoon Herbs. Lauren will be leading a plant walk through the meadow and fields. We'll learn basic foraging etiquette and safety, what common weeds can be used medicinally and for food, and then she’ll show how to make herbal preparations from our bounty.
Lauren Haynes, clinical herbalist and founder of Wooden Spoon Herbs, is deeply rooted in the southern Appalachian Mountains, where she is inspired by the incredibly rich biodiversity and slow mountain living. Lauren’s family has been in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains for over five generations, through Wooden Spoon she offers respect to both her lineage and the indigenous Creek and Cherokee inhabitants of the land.
Lauren first connected to natural remedies through an intense fascination intertwining her life with the natural realm. She devoted three years to rigorous clinical herbalism study under traditional folk herbalist Phyllis D. Light at the Appalachian Center for Natural Health. Lauren’s formal education and countless hours of direct relationship with the plants have helped her to emerge as a leading herbalist for a new generation of modern folk seeking holistic wellness.
Tickets are $80. This includes the workshop and a light lunch/drinks. Click the link below to purchase tickets!
